Liberating Italy from Fascism
Join The Sherman County Historical Society at their Fall Meeting for the compelling true story of Italian Jewish refugee, Alessandro “Alex” Sabbadini, who escaped Fascist Italy to America on the eye of WWII only to join the fight in Italy with the U.S. 5th Army. He joined the fight for personal reasons—to liberate Italy and his Jewish family who were being pursued by the Fascists and the Nazis. His story is told by Alex’s oldest son, Roger Sabbadini. Come help us honor the memory of our Sherman County men who fought in the Italian campaign. Enjoy a “homefront meal” complete with wartime rationing in mind. Get a signed copy of Roger Sabbadini’s book “Unavoidable Hope”.
