About

An authentic one-room schoolhouse and brothel-turned-barbershop are just a few of the century-old buildings that make up the Gilliam County Historical Museum. Visitors can get a glimpse into the lives of the early pioneers, whose wagons rumbled through Gilliam County following the Oregon Trail.

You may also recognize a few locals: the Tonight Show’s Doc Severinsen and two Nobel Prize winners, Linus Pauling and William Murphy, are among Gilliam County’s impressive past residents and have prominent places in the Museum’s collection.

The Gilliam County Historical Museum welcomes visitors from May-October and works year-round to honor and remember the people and events that shaped this special place.
