Emergency Services
South Gilliam County Rural Fire Protection District is an all volunteer department located in Condon Oregon. We provide fire protection to a rural farming community of approximately one thousand fifty full time residents, whose main products are wheat and cattle. The response area for the fire district is approximately 843 square miles and includes the city of Condon and several other small outlying communities including Lonerock and Mayville, as well as a community at an old radar base.
South Gilliam County RFPD averages 30 calls a year. The majority of our calls are wildland fires; however we do get structure fires each year as well. We also provide response to vehicle accidents and ambulance assists when requested.
